Springtime; A photoshoot

Good day! Yesterday, as usual, Jewel, Libby and I went into town  for our music lessons. While Jewel and I were waiting for our lessons , we decided we just "needed" to take a photo shoot out under the beautiful tree outside.
 Firstly, myself...
...we also took pictures of the pretty rocks strewn with petals.
Then Libby finished and came to join us...

 The pretty tree...
 Jewel amongst the blossoms...

 The blossoms themselves...

 And all three of us...

Then Jewel noticed a pretty tree across the street we just "needed" to photograph. Jewel seems better than the rest of us at photography. She said this particular tree was like the ugly duckling to her: "All strange and twisted looking until it burst into bloom."

What is your favorite thing about springtime?

A spring picnic

Hey all! This is Libby. You know, it isn't really spring yet, but here, it sure feels like it! Just yesterday, Marie, Jewel, the dogs and I all went on a picnic. "This looks like the perfect place." said Jewel, "I can't wait to eat those sandwiches. I love peanut butter!"
"Great! I'll spread out the blanket." "Fine with me. I'll play with those darling doggies."
Soon we were all sitting there, eating away.
"Are there any more sandwiches left?" I asked. "One more." said Jewel, peeping into the basket. "Fab!" I said, "I'll take it."
After I finished demolishing the last sandwich, we had the super experience of devouring the Jello mold Marie-Grace had made.
After all this, we finished our lovely outside time with a sprightly game of tag. I won.
Do you like spending time outside?

Spring Flowers

Hi all! For DAYS it's been raining here. That means we have to stay inside all day! I mean, people who live in town can play on the sidewalk, but out here in the country, it gets muddy, muddy, muddy! Well, that's just  part of spring. Anyway, one good thing about all this rain is that the flowers go totally crazy! I don't love flowers as much as Marie-Grace does, but I do get all excited when they come out of their buds.
Do you like flowers?
By the way, I'd like to say Happy Birthday! to my cousin Rissa (Chrissa really) who lives in FL. To see how here birthday went, click HERE

A Pleasurable Mother's Day Outing

Good Day pleasant readers! Last Saturday, early in the morning, our family drove to Central City for a graduation. After that, we went to a lovely park for lunch.

Prior to lunch, Liberty played on the playground while I read. Libby says: "Never try to play in a skirts!"
We had lunch under a flowering tree, on a carpet of soft green grass.
Both Liberty and I were pleased to have popsicles for desert.
Here are a few pictures of the blossoms on the tree.

After our lunch and a bit more playing, we drove to the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island.
The Stutr Museum is most beautiful.
One of the first things we saw, was this family of Canada Geese.
Here are some more of the things we saw.
"Okay. Let's play school." said Libby, flopping in a chair. "Do you really want to play school?" I asked. "Yeah! I'm tired, I want to sit down and play school!"
So we played school until it was time to go.
Do you go to museums very often?
What do you like to play?

Our May Day Baskets

Hi all! Today, as is our family custom, Marie and I exchanged May Day Baskets. I am guessing you do not know of our tradition so I shall tell you about it.
When Mommy was little, she read a book in which some of the characters, on May Day, exchanged baskets with flowers in them. She thought this a lovely idea and so we do it now. It was supposed to be early in the morning that we would pick the flowers and deliver the baskets, but at that time we were doing schoolwork so we waited a while. Finally, however, I was outside picking dandelions, since they were the flowers most readily available. Marie was picking flowers elsewhere.

When we were both done, Marie-Grace and I sat on the lawn (or what Mommy hopes will be a lawn) and talked.

Marie liked the flowers I had picked for her, even though they weren't as pretty as the ones she picked for me.
My point proven.
 Marie-Grace.
"and so we laugh and talk all evening, which is totally bizarre..."  Sorry. Just a line from my favorite song in Frozen, but that's what this picture reminds me of.
Do you have family traditions?
How do you celebrate May Day?

Welcome Spring!

Good day pleasant readers! Today, after church Libby found the shell of this egg and I filled it with flowers. One man said it looked artistic.  Anyway, we just wanted to share this little bit of spring with you.
What is Spring like were you live?
