The Captivating County Fair

Good day pleasant readers! Hi all! Libby and Marie-Grace here. A few days ago we had the pleasure of going to the county fair in our area.
The first thing I went to look at was my hummingbird poster, and it is going to the State Fair! Eeeeeeeeee!
The first thing I went to look at was my cake. And yes, this is a cake. I covered it with fondant. It had got a very good score. At least, one the I was satisfied with.
Here are some of the other cakes I saw. The green and purple flowered cake was the senior champion as well as being my favorite. Libby liked "the clown cake" best.
My pie had gotten a blue ribbon. I don't see why! Marie's pies are fab!
At least the judges were smart with her Glazed Lemon Zucchini "cake". It was AMAZ!
Here is the embroidery I put in open class. Also, this Friday, I am putting it in an art show hosted by our church.
We were very happy for our piano teacher when we found her quilt had won first place in open class.
While Libby looked at some other things, I surveyed the flowers in open class.
"Libby? Do you want to go inspect the animals now? I'm done examining the flowers." "Wow. Marie, isn't this AMAZ? These judges are smart after all."

"Look at the ity, bitty chicken! It's looking right at us!" "I do like ducks." "Doesn't that white one look like a duck in a nursery rhyme book?" "Look at the funny hairdo on that black one! And I used to say your hair looked funny!"
I've always wished I could have a rabbit. Me too.
When I was there, I decided all over again: I do not like pigs.
I do like sheep and goats . Our mother used to own goats when she was a little girl.  Does't that sheep on the bottom look like a wrinkled old granny sheep?
I like cows sometimes but not all the time. Fact.  Despite Libby's somewhat dislike of cows, we had a lovely time at the fair.
Have you ever gone to a fair?

P.S. It is now confirmed! We are going to Washington DC sometime in October. I can't wait!

Happy Birthday Jubilee!

Hi all! Libby here. Jubilee's birthday was yesterday it her party was soooooooooooo awesome!
She had a cupcake theme, which was so creative, but she said she did it cause she loves cupcakes so much.
When I walked in I said "Since I know you love veggies soooooooooooo much, I brought you this giant zucchini for your B-Day! Aren't you happy?!" "Yeah, this is really great, Libby," replied Jubilee, her voice dripping with sarcasm,"Come on, Libby, take that present out from under your shirt." "My friends are all to smart for me! First Liz, (see HERE) then you! I need some better ideas!" I said pulling my present out and giggling.
So after a bit of talking, we played pin the cherry on the cupcake. Jubilee, of course, went first.
"Seriously?! I'm losing? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Just kidding, I don't mind."
Marie was next. I got to spin her. "Okay Marie, you or Addy better win, or else Jubilee will win, and goodness know we can't have that!" "Hey!" "I'm kidding, I'm kidding!"
Addy won.
Here's how it ended up.
Now it's............. "Present time! Present time! Open a present and see what's inside!" "Uh, Libby, that's what I am doing."
Marie-Grace's present was doll clothes.
"Great! I really needed a summer outfit!"
Next came an origami book from Addy which Jubilee says she's wanted "FOREVER!"
Last came MY GIFT!  Best for last!  Not really, but it's fun to say it.
"Second Hand Lions?! I LOVE that movie! We've had to barrow it from the Library till now! Thanks SOOOOOOOO much, Libby!"
Then we had the cupcakes! Yum, yum, yum! Jubilee told me she and Addy had so much fun decorating these. I can see why, can't you?
Do my eyes look like hard boiled eggs here? I believe my comment was: "Is is elly ood!" (this is really good).
"These are really good if I do say so myself."
After food, we were going to watch Mayor Cupcake but Jubilee decided to watch Second Hand Lions instead. "Because it's just SUCH AN AWESOME MOVIE!" she said.
Oh, and did I mention that this was a campout party? In her yard. It was amazing fun. Jubilee and I had a pillow fight and I'm almost sure we stayed up till 1:00 but not entirely, because Jubilee has lost her watch. I glad I got to go Jubilee's incredible party, but I'm even more glad that God gave me an awesome friend like Jubilee.
Who's your best friend?

My Birthday!

Hi all! Today was my so-much-fun, great, amazing, fantastic BIRTHDAY! YAY!
So, I started out my day with a yummy breakfast in bed that Marie made me.
After getting dressed and all that stuff, Mom said I could open one of my presents!
It turned out to be a very fun board game called "Apple Land".
At 3:00 Liz Miller and Addy and Jubilee Walker arrived for my costume party. Since we forgot to take pictures of the costumes I'll tell you what the costumes are now. I was a hot dog (with Caramel as my mustard bottle), Jubilee was an Indian, Addy was one of the Von Trapp girls, Marie-Grace was "A wealthy lady from the southern era", and Liz was "A ragbag or a Cinderella before the ball!" You see, Liz had been in California for vacation until last night so she didn't have time to think up much of a costume.  So anyway, here  we are playing "Have you seen my dog?".

After "Have you seen my dog?" we played "How's Your's?"
Then we played clothespin tag. Now, that was fun!  Basically, you try and grab other people's clothespin (or pins)  while not having your own pulled off.
Jubilee won that.
Then I went out while the others hid my presents. When I came back in they all started calling out their hotter, colders all at the same time! Annoyance! That made it very hard to find my presents.
I did, however.
Before opening my lovely  presents, it was time for CAKE!!!!
Marie did an amazing job when she baked it.

Then it was time for PRESENTS! In this particular present from the Walkers was a $20 gift card to Olive Garden! Maybe when I go, I'll order just bread sticks! Not really, but their bread sticks are amazing, don't you think?
From Marie I got this exciting book called: "The Tale of Princess Tatiana". From what I've read so far, it's really good.
Then I got a really thoughtful gift from Liz. When she was at the American Girl store in Los Angeles, she remembered that that was the only american girl store I had ever gone to and bought me the tee-shirt from there. Wasn't that nice of her?
The Walkers also gave me this cute frame as a present.
Later, when Dad got home,(and the guests had left) I opened my last gift. It was a leotard and a promise of gymnastics lessons in the fall! I'll finally learn to turn a cartwheel!
So I'm a year older. Do I seem older? Do I look older? I bet not. Well, I had a great birthday all the same.
What do you do for your birthdays?
