A Fall Walk

 Hello, Readers! Yesterday, after my singing lesson, Liberty thought it would be fun to walk our dogs in the park near my teacher's house.

 First, we stopped at the Library and I checked out "A Week in the Woods" which had been recommended to me by a friend.

"Wow, look at that!" said Liberty. "Beautiful, isn't it?" I replied, picking a leaf to press.

At first, when we got to the park we collected some pretty leaves, also to press.  Very soon, Liberty turned that into a game of tag.  So, when we finally settled down to walk our dogs (which had been tied to the fence) we were almost hot.

 "Isn't fall such a blessing?" I asked. "Oh yes," Liberty answered," I can't imagine just skipping from summer to winter. Then again, in winter there's snow, Christmas, seeing Rissa....." she sighed. "So many Blessings."

I started to sing, and Liberty joined me. "When upon life's billows you are tempest tossed, When you are discouraged thinking all is lost, Count your many blessings - name them one by one, And it will surprise you what the Lord has done."  "Count your blessings!" we sang as we walked along the path.

My afternoon with Jubilee

 Warning:  Long post. Over 16 pictures.

Now, before you say anything, I'm very, very sorry we haven't  been posting and we should be ashamed of  our selves. Marie- Grave and I have been trying to get a better schedule for blogging.

Now, to get on with the post.

 "There's nothing to do!" I cried, throwing out my arms.

 " Why don't you make something, or play with Caramel? said Marie, who was putting away fall clothes.

 "Do you think I'm about to make something when you just hand sewed that dress in two days?" I asked,   "and Caramel's to sleepy to play."

"Then why don't you call Jubilee and see if she and Addy would like to come over." Marie replied, closing the drawer.

 "What a great idea! I'll call her now!"

 In no time at all Jubilee was at my House. "IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU, LIBBY! I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU SINCE, LIKE, POPCORN DAYS!" was my greeting. 

 Red Ribbon was excited to see Vanilla, to!

 I suddenly got an idea, and whispered it to Jubilee. "That sounds great!" she said.

 We turned on my favorite CD (Rachel Scott, Sons and Daughters) and then danced to it.

 I tried a few moves...........

 .........Then Jubilee.

 Crazy, Huh?

 Until then, Addy and Marie-Grace had been talking quietly,but when they noticed Jubilee's handstand, they suggested that we all have a snack.

 There was however, a very slight emergency, when Caramel, (who was now very much awake) and Red Ribbon stole our Cookies!

 (We did, by the way, manage to get them back  before the dogs slobbered all over them.)

 After that,we all watched Snow White.

 So, to sum it all up, we had tons and tons of fun.

Picking mint in Addy's Garden

Today, I wanted to make a dish that Liberty and I are fond of, and Addy invited me over to her garden to pick mint, which is the key ingredient in the dish.

"Are you almost done?" Addy asked, coming around the mint bush. "Yes, I 'm done." I replied, "Thank you for letting me pick mint in your garden." "You're welcome." she said, " That's what Friends are for." Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this very short blog post, because I enjoyed making it.

Our Afternoon at Lake Calamus

 Hi  everyone! Today, after schooling, Marie and Caramel and Vanilla and I went down to Lake Calamus, which is the nearest thing we have to a beach near our house.

  These are the first pictures I took when I got out of the car.

 First we ate our lovely lunch, provided by Marie. Ice cold water and lettuce and tomato sandwiches. Yum!

Right after dinner, Marie read an American Girl magazine......... 

........but  I used my new swimsuit for the first time in the waters of Lake Calamus. Fun, Fun, Fun! 

State Fair

 As a way of ending our summer, Liberty and I went to the State Fair. 

Also, we went there to see Liberty's photo (explained in an earlier post).. 

 At first, we simply wandered around, amazed by the sights, sounds, and smells of the State Fair. 

Soon we stopped at the Sea Lion's tank.
Liberty has decided that sea lions are her favorite animal, after dogs.

 Next, we looked at all the animals people had entered. 

I liked the rabbits best of all. Liberty liked the ducks.

Later, Liberty and I separated to look at different things 

that people were selling.  I looked at the jewelry...

                                            ...and Liberty looked at the roasted nuts and candies.

 Then we looked at a collection of fairy gardens.  

Liberty wanted me to point out the little house in one.  

We also saw Liberty's photo at this time. Liberty was very excited, it having got a purple ribbon.

 Later, we both had a sample of a cinnamon roll.

 Last of all, we went to the petting zoo.  

The porcupine's name is Fluffy.  Liberty just wanted me to mention that.

Next we will be jumping into our school year.  That will certainly be an adventure!

WE WENT TO THE ZOO!!!!!!!!!

Yes, Marie really did choose THE OMAHA ZOO for her turn. Only the BIGGEST ZOO IN THE  WORLD!!!! I was dumbfounded when she told me. But, here we are all the same.That picture was taken in the Desert Dome, the first place we went.

 All these pictures were taken in the Kingdoms of the Night,which is under the Desert Dome.They include lizards, tree frogs, aardvarks,beavers,fossas,birds, and even an alligator!   

 Next we went back into the Desert Dome, and took more pictures of ducks,and cacti and waterfalls.

Next we went to the Lied Jungle. 

 Oh, what a place that was!

 I really liked these cute otters, although I think the monkeys were my favorite.

 We would have taken millions more pictures,I know it,but our camera started to die so we were only able to take a picture of this Blue Morpho Butterfly.

 I was rather moody on the way home knowing that  I'll have to jump into the school year after this.  But when we got home, there was a letter from Rissa waiting!

 I guess life is worth living after all.
